Deacon Board

" ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord..."  1 Corinthians 15:58

Our deacon board seeks to follow the biblical example established by the early disciples as Spirit-filled men were chosen and set aside to be servant partners with the pastors. Deacons assist the pastors and staff in all areas of ministry, service, support, and leadership to the family of God.  Serves and strives to meet the ever growing spiritual and physical needs of the church and its attendant ministries.  Deacons are those men in the church, appointed and ordained by the elders, who lead, facilitate, organize, and equip others with serving gifts to minister effectively within the Body of Christ.  They assist by caring for the poor, the sick, the preparation and administration of the Ordinances; service of the Communion and Baptism.  Every member of the congregation is assigned to a Deacon. 


Mothers/Deaconess Board

“If any man serve me, let him follow; and where I am, there shall also my servant be; if any man serve, him will my Father honor.”    John 12:26


Our mission in cooperation with the Deacon Board is to prepare and serve for the doctrine of faith experience of the Lord's Supper, Baptism, the Right Hand of Fellowship, and other worship needs.  The purpose of the Deaconess Ministry is to care for and assist the needs of the overall congregation.  They also prepare themselves spiritually to assist in the spiritual responsibilities of the church and to glorify God through our service to others under the spiritual guidance of the Pastor and the Deacons.


Trustee Board/Finance Ministry

"Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God." I Corinthians 4:1


The mission of the St. P.B. Church Trustee Board is to be good stewards by providing financial leadership and awareness. We will achieve this by training the congregation; planning, monitoring and forecasting to insure the church is in sound financial position.



"For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister." Hebrews 6:10


Administration's mission is to provide support services that assist the Pastor and congregation in achieving the vision and mission of the church. It is our goal as support staff to be of service to the church by maintaining church records, keeping the congregation aware of church events, receiving visitors and new members into the church family, and assisting church ministries with clerical support. We aim to structure the church office for member awareness and church growth.

The church newsletter, St. John Today, serves as a vehicle designed to increase the Bethlehem church family's awareness of all church related news and to increase the familiarity of church members with one another by:  Acknowledging the achievements, successes, birthdays, and other memorable events in our members' lives.  In addition, highlighting the various church related activities and programs that take place throughout the year Informing all members of auxiliary news (programs, meeting dates, etc.) Introducing new members and their families to the congregation.

The Pastors Care Committee serves as a emotional support team for the pastor, as well as his family.  Anything the pastor needs, the PCC is there to ensure he gets it.  They are also responsible for showing appreciation to the pastor on behalf of the congregation.  The PCC also plans the Pastor's anniversary service and banquet.  The PCC will solicit gifts from other ministries to present to the pastor during the anniversary celebration.

The Information Technology (IT) Ministry's mission is to support St. John P.B. Baptist Church (STJPBC), and the community it serves with IT related support, solutions, and education. Our intention is to empower BBC and the community with knowledge of the infinite possibilities of information technology. The major focal points of the IT ministry include: enhancing the understanding and effective usage of information technology; and providing technical assistance, advice, and IT education to BBC and the community which will impact their decision making in regards of technology.

To serve God and others through the music ministry with an emphasis on contemporary music. We endeavor to serve by leading the congregation in praises, accompanying the Pastor, and representing the church in community engagements.

The mission of the Usher Ministry is to provide better service to God and His people by being ready and willing to serve; being kind and courteous at all times; and leading spiritual dignity to the whole church service.

The mission of the Shekinah Praise Dance Ministry & Adult Dance Ministry is to use dance as a powerful tool of praise and worship to the honor, edification, and glory of God. Being led by the Spirit of God, this ministry seeks to bless, heal, deliver, cleanse and reveal the power of God's anointing through dance. As we die to self, God will be glorified, edified and blessed by our total and absolute humble submission to His Will. Thus, God, the multitudes and the ministry will be blessed.



This ministry works to provide leadership and spiritual guidance to youth, which fosters the development of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, leading toward growth and maturity in Christian character, church service and evangelism. The ministry also provides a multitude of opportunities for ministering such as the Youth Choir, Youth Usher Board, Drama Ministry and Youth Dance Ministry.

The mission of the Praise Team is to lead the congregation in worship by ushering the presence of the Holy Spirit of God and allowing His presence to flow through the congregation. As a result, heaviness and strongholds are lifted and the hearts, minds, and spirit of God's people are lifted and the congregation is prepared for worship.

The mission of the New Member Ministry is to welcome the new members and make them a part of the Church Family, as well as incorporate spiritual encouragement and an awareness of the different ministries. Our mission is to promote fellowship and to maintain an outreach to the surrounding communities. No new member will be left behind.



"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.  It is the Lord Christ you are serving."  Colossians 3:23-24


This ministry is a group of spirit-filled women whose mission is to serve God by serving others. Our goal is to provide for the spiritual, physical, financial and emotional needs of the church and community, the less fortunate, and those with special needs.

The Men of Bethlehem Ministry's mission is to equip men to serve in these significant areas of life: spiritual growth, Christian manhood, outreach ministry and fellowship. We strive to read and study God's Word consistently. We are our brother's keeper, mentoring especially to young men and demonstrating our commitment to all mankind. We shall stress the importance of socialization skills, to develop Christian leaders and create a stronger bond between men. This is to be done to the end of glorifying the Lord.

St. John Fit Club - To provide fitness workout & recreational opportunities to all of our interested members in a friendly and religious atmosphere. Our vision is to have a well organized athletic program, meeting the recreational needs of our membership and community friends.

The mission of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry is to meet the prayer needs of the members of Bethlehem Baptist Church, the community, individual prayer requests, and to teach the fundamentals of how to effectively pray.



"Let the word of Christ dwell in your richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and Hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."  Colossians 3:16


Our mission is to serve God and others through the music ministry. It is our goal and prayer to unify the entire music department, so that we may be of greater service. The music department supports the pastor and church in several areas:

  • Leading the congregation in praises through song

  • Accompanying the pastor on pastoral engagements

  • Performing at church-sponsored functions representing St. John in revivals, concerts, anniversaries and other programs.
